Does the quality of optical cable matter when transferring material from a cdp to md? Do you guys have any suggestions?

we've discussed this before and I believe we pretty much agreed that it doesn't matter. even if it did matter for soundquality, your MDP probably isn't revealing enough to show it, and Atrac compression is no help either.
