Questions for recent McIntosh integrated amp owners
I recently ordered a new outboard DAC for my system.
However, the more I think about it, I may reconsider and replace my MA6600 with the new MA8950 which includes the latest DAC2 module.
The 8950 has 2 output stages
A -Output 1 operates as an integrated amp
B - Output 2 operates the Pre-amp only sending the signal out.
Wondering if anyone here, turns Output 1 off and uses Output 2 to drive a headphone amp?
If so, curious to know if by using only Output 2 does the 8950 power amp turn off and not run or does it power on regardless of which output is chosen?
May be a simple question, however hard to pin this down from McIntosh literature
