New MacBook Pro use FW800 as default firewire standard. I just wonder whether I can connect the Apogee Duet to it? Just get my new MBP and planning to buy a Duet.

If not I has two other options. One is connect Apogee minidac via MBP's optical output. Anyone knows whether the digital output for apple macs good or not?
The second one is, buying a Logitech SqueezeBox and connect with my minidac.

Which option do you like? Please help me guys, thanks

Yeah you can, just need a FW 800 -> 400 converter. I'm very happy with my Duet personally

thanks mate. But im thinking about whether it is necessary for buying a Duet since I have already owned a minidac. Can I use minidac with MBP directly?

I don't see why not. I'm not sure how good the optical output of a MBP is though, don't have any experience with it.
