Mayberry On Acid: First Ever Fairfax, CA Meet February 2, 2008! Hey, that's next week!

Mayberry on Acid is a nickname for the Town of Fairfax in Marin County, California. Click on that link to get a feel for the town, or at least one take on it. I am hosting a meet at my house in Fairfax on February 2, 2008, so put it on your calendar and try to make the scene.

We will plan on getting started early, maybe 10am, but in the fine tradition of Bay Area house meets, there is no set end time. We will just keep going until we are done or want to move on to other things at my place or in town or both. When we are closer to the meet date, I will either post or PM my address and directions to the house. It is not hard to find, and I will fly a Head-Fi flag or something to mark the house.

We will have room for a fair number of member setups, a separate K1000 room, and I will make the TV available to accommodate Guitar Hero madness if anybody wants to bring their PS2/3 gear along for the later hours. Actual guitars, hand drums, etc, would be welcome as well.
biggrin.gif
Post up your availability in the thread and indicate what gear you can bring along so we can get organized on that front. Post #2 in this thread will be reserved for attendee and gear lists.

One limitation I am going to impose is that MOTs are invited as members ONLY because I cannot accommodate the space needed to allow for both members and MOTs that might want to show their wares. It will be getting close to CanJam '08 anyway, so the MOTs can hold out their best stuff for May.
cool.gif
So, Todd, Craig, Tyll, Ray, Matt, Justin, Mikhail, Jack, and all the rest of our fine member MOTs please join in for the meet and the fun. Of course, you are welcome to bring a rig that you personally use like all members, but leave your sales rigs at home!

This meet was spurred on by some luminaries from Team Florida looking to get away from all that sun for awhile, so be aware and be warned that Tyrion, Boomana, Agile_One, Thrice and likely others from afar will be in attendance. Iron_Dreamer is committed to coming out of the mountains, The Monkey is thinking about swinging in from NYC, Santa is considering a break from the tyranny of Caymans Cops, and, oh dear lord, stevieo himself is thinking he might actually visit his house in Marin and maybe even his son in SF. I hope that doesn't scare away too many possible attendees, but fair warning has been given.
eek.gif
Let's show these folks what a true Bay Area meet is all about!

For the Friday night before the meet, we may be heading out to a club or the brew pub in town, or somewhere in SF or the East Bay (just so JP#s doesn't complain that I am leaving out his side of the water). Post up your interest in such pre-meet festivities and/or PM me so we try to include you.

Finally, just to make sure we are properly lubricated at the meet, we will have the Ambrewlance from Iron Springs Brewpub on call for beer deliveries. [Click on the pic in that link for the full story]

I just can't wait to use my best ER voice to call them up and say something like: "We need IPA growlers, STAT!" [And don't worry, non-drinkers and under-age members are welcome and will not feel pressured or out of place.]

See you in February!

Just one more incentive to attend, my goat-bearded friend! I will see if I can work it out with the Ambrew Crew.

You know I'm in. The only gear I have at the moment is my ipod/Rockerhopper Mini3/ER 6i. By the time the meet is upon us, who knows what I will have.

Jp needs to start working on a keg of Pliney (pretty sure it's not possible but if anyone an do it).

Mike and I (and hopefully, Vicki) share a plane from Houston to the coast, so our party starts early. Should be an epic weekend.

What airline are you flying?...maybe I can catch you guys in Houston

We need a name for this mile-high trio. So far I have:

- Tres Amigos.
- Saint V & the Sinners.
- The Wandering Jew + Two.
- 3 Crackers Gone Wild.
- Assorted Nuts.

You get the idea ...

If thrice man's up, and joins us on Thurs rather than taking the wimp flight on Fri, then we'll have a quartet to name, but we can deal with that when/if it happens.
