Sooner rather than later, I want in on your playground. Perhaps I will build a decent music server (with insane layers of security) and fool around with PC audio after all. Promise you guys will help me out? Promise you guys won't get mad when I tell you that dedicated components will always look and sound better than PC AV?

PS: I know that format c: /s is not the command line action to play the latest Britney Spears music video on my soon to be hand built desktop PC.

Actually, I think it's format/u/autotest/s c:, but you're current method should work, in a pinch.
