or should I choose a different headphone? (it's not isolating enough and the low bass (30 Hz and lower) just isn't strong enough for me. I don't want a canal phone though)
If I get an amp with that phone, I want...
one that runs on AA or AAA batteries (preferably at least 8 to 10 hours of life on a charge, but would be willing to sacrifice a little if necessary to get 20 to 30dB of amplification (which btw would mainly be used when I'm using the headphones as a portable speaker system - and btw is it possible to detach the earcups on the Senn HD-280 from the headband?)
about the size of a compact flash memory mp3 player
an in-line volume control that acts as such when the batteries are weak or uninstalled
graphic equalizer including at least 20Hz, 65Hz, 200Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz, 8kHz, and 14kHz bands (or similar), at least +/- 12 dB
the amp is in-line (i.e. player to amp with any length of cord, then from amp to headphones with maybe 3 or 4 feet of cord.
