I want to output Toslink from my HDTV into the matrix mini-i, use the analogue outputs from the Matrix to my active studio monitors.
 
Then be able to use the remote control to control the volume of the output.
 
Is this possible or are the analogue outputs fixed line and not controlled by the Remote ? The remote control functionality to control the output volume from the analogue outputs from the Matrix mini is super important to me.

Yes.

You can choose to set the output to "fixed" or you can use the Matrix to control the volume of your speakers.
