Hey guys, I have a question about master clocks in CD players. I remember reading a while ago on these forums about a component in a CD player called the master clock. Well, I was just given a DBX DX5 CD player from a friend. I really like the sound of this CD player. However, I noticed if I play a track at the same time as I play the song in iTunes, they go at different rates. The CD player by the end of the song is about 2-5 seconds behind iTunes. Does this have something to do with the master clock?

hehe, i dont think thats a clocking issue, is the song on the computer ripped off the CD you play in the cdplayer?

Most likely explanation is that the CD player is taking marginally longer to transition between tracks, possibly because the ripped files have had the start or end track silences offset by maybe a half second.
