I know that the sa-11s2 is coming out and that its revisions will largely be based off the sa-7s1. On paper I could see where these changes would be improvements over the sa-11s1, but has anybody actually compared them and heard significant differences? The only info I've been able to find on the sa-11s2 is your typical marketing propaganda designed to persuade you to upgrade, but I'm wondering what the real world differences are.

I thought it was supposed to be out this October (i.e., now), and it's listed on Marantz's website.

did you read this.

I just read the translation of the Japanese text. It does indeed look like the SA-11S2 is extremely close to the SA-7S1. They even changed the DAC to the same DAC used by the SA-7S1. The only differences seem to be the chassis, supposedly better isolation between the digital and analog circuits in the SA-7S1, and a somewhat increased power supply capacity in the SA-7S1 (when that of the SA-11S2 is already over-engineered...)

It sure doesn't look like the SA-7S1 is worth the extra $2300 over the SA-11S2. I think they just killed the SA-7S1!

True, but it might help them sell more units against TEAC's Esoteric line. A bargain 11S2 might be the mid-line between the Sony 595's and the Reimyos coming out of Japan.
