Well the title explains pretty much what Im asking here.

I have an opportunity to get a NAD C521BEE for $220, new. Do i take it or should I look into a Marantz CD6000? I have heard though, that the CD6000 doesnt play some cd's and most cd-r's, and that might pose a problem somewhere down the road and I want to keep my options open.

Im split here. I need help deciding what to buy.

The source will be used with a gilmore dact v1 and possibly DT880's. It depends if i want to go through with the beyers or i might look for another set of cans...Im still deciding there.

But anyway, can you guys help me out here? What are the pros/cons of each player. Which would fit my setup better? How do they sound?...dark? smooth? bright? punchy? Also, Im a big fan of soundstage, so I'd appreciate it if you took that into consideration aswell.

Thanks.
Dan

Hmhmhm, I don't think the plain CD6000 plays on 521BEE level - I'd assume you'd need a CD5400OSE, CD6000OSE or CD7300 for that. So for US$ 220 new, I guess, you should go for the NAD...
