Hi, I need advice on a purchase. I have been looking to buy my first real good CDP, and now I've found what I think is a good deal on the above mentioned player. The price is about $570 + shipping, it's used but in mint condition and it has warranty left on it. The other equipment to be used with this player is a soon to be bought DT880 and a Corda HA-1 MkII.

The alternative to buying the CD6000 KI would be buying a NAD C542 or a Philips 963SA new, which would cost about the same. What do you all think? Should I buy this now that I have the chance or should I go for C542 or 963SA? Or should I find something else?

Bring on your suggestions please!

Price seems ok, but I've read mixed reviews as to whether it's so much better than the considerably cheaper 6000OSE or 6000OSE/LE (~ 350 - 400 Euro new). In addition, the successor of the CD6000, the CD7300 is just being introduced. So maybe you should visit a Marantz dealer in your vicinity and compare a bit...

Marantz CD6000 OSE/LE is not that cheap in Sweden. It costs $700 or 600 euros new.

I just want to know if this is a really good deal or if I should let it pass and look for something else.

I have a CD6000SE that I use in my big speaker setup, not sure how it differs from the model you are referring to. Out of the box it doesn't sound bad at all. Most stock Marantz players I've noticed are a little on the bright/harsh side, but their detail is great.
