Just received my Mapletree Ear+ HD from the good Doctor and I thought I would share some pics with you all. It's sounding wonderful with my HD600s w/Cardas Cable.

I am more than thrilled with the sound and can't wait to get this properly burned in!

Congrats! I have exchange emails with Dr. Peppard and ready to queue up for an Ear+HD to pair with Grados. I will be ordering a red chassis with black panels. How long did it take to receive your amp? Great pictures and ready to jump into the world of tubes!

Approximately 3 weeks from order until receipt. Worth every bit of the wait! Have fun - it's nice to own a hand-made beauty like this ....

For Senn HD580 & 650 I like the RCA or Sylvania 7025. For warmer headphones I use a Raytheon 12AX7.
Great amp for tube rolling (5751, 7025, 12AX7)...Selections are plenty without breaking the bank...

I take it then that the 7025 can be used as a replacement for the 5751/12AX7 ... does it have more/less gain than the 5751?

Thanks!

It's an exact electrical substitutes for the 12ax7. They have the same high gain. They were made for low noise I am told.

Did you assemble yourself?

No. I am all thumbs and without much patience. For me it was worth the extra $80 and the short wait!

Well congratulations! It's a work of art for sure, and love reading reviews for this amp, all of enjoyable.

Sure does beat the typical silver/black box from an aesthetic point but it wouldn't mean much if the sound quality didn't measure up. In this case, the Mapletree satisfies on both counts.
