I'm intrigued...

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with and opinions about Mapleshade's flat ICs?

Check out this thread: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...ght=Mapleshade

I guess a lot of the knowledge folks here are afraid of being electrocuted by Mapleshade cables.

I can't comment on the electrical side of things, but they look mighty fragile to me. I know I could break them, anyway.

Edit:
Also, read the comments here: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...ght=Mapleshade

Again, I don't know anything about electronics, but all these experts can't be wrong (can they?)

I have the original Mapleshade double helix interconnect and it is totally awesome. Sonically it truly is one of the best interconnects available. The only problems are its flimsy construction and susceptibility to hum (because it is not shielded). They are basically enameled magnet wires in the thinnest kind of poly tubing available connected with unplated rca connectors. So eventually they will break if handled excessively (mine did) and the connectors have to be cleaned often because they are just unplated brass. As an alternative I would recommend the Integration Fusion or the Second Carbon from Van den Hul. They are very involving and natural sounding and are built to last a lifetime.

I tried them, worked OK in system 2 but main system got loud hum when used.........sent mine back. Very fragile and can break easy if not careful.

I have read some good reviews which prompted me to try them.
