XENNS (previously known as Mangird) Impressions Thread

The Tea sounds quite a bit different from the NM2+. The NM2+ is extremely detailed for a single-DD IEM, with a ton of clarity. It is exciting (if you don’t find the upper midrange bothersome), but not the best IEM to just sit back and relax with. The Tea on the other hand is very smooth sounding, romantic, with a rich midrange (it is a midrange specialist), and good sub bass, but less mid bass, so as not to interfere with the midrange. The treble is well extended, with good clarity, but not the most micro detail. Both the NM2+ and Tea have wonderful soundstage imaging, but I think the Tea has a bit better instrument separation and placement, with better layering. The NM2+, however, has the best imaging of any single-DD IEM that I’ve heard thus far.

At least on this thread and on another forum, I haven‘t read about QC problems. I haven’t had any.

oh i thought tea and nm2+ more or less have similar tuning, cause i saw some post it that it quite analytical
yeah, i already bought nm2+ but still curious with this

thx for the info btw !

My Tea’s are well broken in now and with stock cable and xelastic tips these are getting better and better each day. I’m using them more then any of my other iems for sure. Great isolation and the imaging is outstanding, love listening to my tunes with these! My EJ07 and S8F share top honors in my collection with Mangird TEA, I could easily stop buying for my collection but know better then to try because there will always be another “gotta try” IEM!

Would you be willing to provide a brief comparison between the Tea and EJ07, similarities and differences, imaging, detail retrieval, your preferred IEM for male and female vocals, etc. Thanks!

I hear u say fh3 has a lot more bass then tea? Well i sold my fh3 within the day, what a generic boring set. Had less bass then my ybf as well. So i guess im just waisting my money.. there is no decent upgrade to the ybf with the same tuning..? I mean slamming berry bass and good sparkle..

You hated the FH3? There have been quite a few people who had defective units of the FH3, some of them were lacking bass. A proper functioning FH3 has a lot of bass, not quite as much as the YBF IMO, but still plenty.

I guess you’re the most unlucky head-fier. You got a defective L3, hated the FiiO FD1, hated the FH3, like the YBF except it‘s too shouty.....I would pass on the Tea. You probably should only buy IEMs that you’ve had a chance to sample first.

my urbanfun and FH3 are similar in both quantity and quality.

Guess when both iems are iffy on QC it will be hard to share the same opinions on them.

I've been enjoying a used set of Teas over the past month and I do believe I have a "keeper". Sold a Fidue Sirius A91 in favor of these and may put my Legacy L9s up next. The only thing with any more enjoyment is the Toneking T88K. Not the sub bass of the Tea, but still plenty, with a faster mid bass and quantity, and vocals that are a little darker with as much detail that make them just a little lusher. The Teas shell though wins hands down as the best for my ear. Zero fatigue after long periods, looks great, feels great. Very happy.

You really should try a 20Ohm impedance adapter with the Tea. I think it would provide a great alternate signature that would address a lot of the traits you mentioned.

I had the Teas in hand for a month now but couldn't find any spare time to listen to them till today that is......
Listening to the Teas for the first time (just an hour ago) was a mesmerizing experience all the way...
Really blew my mind....
Everything is to fall in love with the Teas.....
STELLAR PERFORMERS!!!
Owning a few iems (look down on the signature section) I would say that below 300$ are the best thing you find, PERIOD...
Definitely beyond their price range...
Main deferences between the Mangird Tea and H40 :
The teas are clearly sub bass focused and the signature is quite bright so if you are treble sensitive maybe this isn't the right set for you, despite that the Teas didn't left me with any fatiguing feeling after an hour long listening session..
Maybe it is the MOST transparent iem that I have ever heard till today.. H40 is more thick and weighty sounding (3 way speakers like experience) not that insane detail retrieval that can be immediately noticed on the Teas particularly in the upper treble region.....
The Teas are fairly balanced and at first listen coming from an earphone such as H40 or the ORBS bass maybe be lacking for some.... But it's just an illusion, and as you adjust to their sound signature you can easily say that this is not the case her and truth is that in the Teas everything is balanced across the FR
Imaging, instrument placement, resolution is STELLAR, distortion is Zero on very high volume.. What more can i say????
Obviously I was impressed from the first listening, maybe ein term sof transparency brought to mind ibasso AM05 (which also sounds linear and transparent close to the Teas as well)
The MOST unique thing about the Teas that I noticed on that hour listening is the overall air and space between the instruments... It was simply.. fantastic
I was totally impressed...... Everything is to fall in love here......

I’m 62 and been playing drums since I was 10, the Tea makes for maybe the best kickdrum presentation I’ve heard to date. I would be shocked if you didn’t hear the kick, the only way that would happen is if the mix is total crap.

I put a new Tripowin gold colored 16 core SPC balanced cable I grabbed from Amazon on the Tea today and wow, a massive change for the better compared to the stock cable. Totally awesome and worth the $20 ish dollars I spent, the most radical sound change I’ve heard in IEM cables in a long time. The kick drum and everything else sound exquisite now! Amazing how a little change in cable or tips or whatever can totally change the sound. I’m Ed and I approved this post!
:sunglasses: :thumbsup::drum:
