I always wanted to have some kind of purse to carry around on the weekends especially for getaways. I briefly tried the fanny pack but they seem to utilize those plastic clips and it kind of concerns me that it will break.

These days, when I go out and about, I carry my bulky keys, cellphone, ipod, wallet and other things. If I am wearing cargo pants thats fine but if I am not, I need to carry a purse. So I chose a purse that kind of looks like the one that Indiana Jones would carry.

I got this bag specifically because it fits the iPad perfectly, along with a moleskine notebook, and spare pens.  I carry keys and an iPod in the back compartment.  I still keep my wallet in the front pocket of my pants.

One of my worries is my wallet (not from Head fi gear spending). The other day, I lost my wallet and finally found that it fell from my front pocket and jammed in my car seat. I was relieved. If it fell in another location I would have lost it. My step father lost his wallet twice at the airport from sitting down in the seats somewhere and it slipped from his front pocket.

This made me realize that a man purse is a good option to make sure that my wallet, bulky keys, cell phone, ipod, portable IEM, possible portable headphone amp is all in order. My pockets are unpredictable with my life style, a man purse makes orderly sense.

I can't bring myself to carry a man purse.

Have you considered a briefcase or messenger bag? A few years back, I found a nice cloth Tumi messenger bag at their outlet store. It holds my iPad and keyboard, a pad of paper, charging equipment, a book or two, and a few pens. It is black and looks appropriate. I wouldn't carry anything that can't hold a pad of legal paper (my favorite).

I thought the same thing as you.. "I need a bag just like Indiana Jones' one"

.

I have a Diesel one (I checked the website but they don't have this model anymore, but the size is like this one:  http://store.diesel.com/DIESEL/detail/tskay/4321DF38/cod10/45155027BS/mm/125 - and it kinda look similar too).

Anyway, it's quite practical. I carry my cellphone, wallet, pen drive, spare earphones, pen, subway pass, keys, etc. You have quick access to everything you need (and it feels safer to carry important things like your passport than a messenger bag).

And it looks better than a fanny pack IMO.

From your link I saw this one.

It has that army cargo styling. I feel like you can't be called a girl caring a military styled bag.

I also second the Messenger bag. It doesn't say man purse as much.

I have been using this.

It is super light, but doesn't have enough padding. The color in the picture is a bit off, it is lighter, more like the bag in the first link. I will be bringing a laptop and ipad to class this semester, so I bought something new. It is likely not what you are looking for, so I won't bother with the link.

To me it looks like a fanny pack that you carry like a messenger bag.

My bag arrived today and I am impressed! It's relatively small, about the size of a hand held bible so it won't fit an iPad but I no longer have to fiddle with my pockets going through all my junk and stuff. The zippered compartments are very well organized and there is even a belt loop so I can slide my belt through it in case if the strap were to break. But the strap feels pretty sturdy enough though. Nice touch on that one.

I may buy more of these bags as a back up. I feel liberated now that my pockets are not stressed and my wallet space does not have to be so limited too.
