anyone know how to do this?
when ever i amp my headphones off my XFI XG it makes the bass all heavy and distortish on my old cans.

i have a pair of HD580's coming and im told i should amp them but if i need to do that i don't want it to sound like poop off my xfi output.

Eh? If that's the reason then you can never get a line-out from any card, not the 0404 usb.

Just set the x-fi to 100% and disable every effect and enhancement. That's line-out for you.

In Audio Creation Mode select one of the RMAA settings for optimal line out. 100% volume gets noisy which is why I recommend using the preset snapshots.

Personally I always turn the master volume to 75% after selecting RMAA 2448 to get the best sound for my amp and headphones. I wouldn't claim that this is the best for everyone though.
