i just had an idea regarding K701s bi-wiring.
why not cut off their phono plug and outfit it with two mono plugs instead ? then use a "dual mono" amplifier to drive them ?
the incentive would be that each of the mono amps could be push-pull with both the + and - of the headphone actively driven instead of both minuses tied to the power supply ground.
even better - buy two regular amps with RCA inputs and turn each stereo amp with unbalanced input into a mono push-pull amp with a balanced input by bridging the outputs.
you would get zero crosstalk between the channels, your power output would quadruple and your noise would become lower ... the only catch is you would need a balanced source to run it.
