Making my own interconnects - how do I start?

Hi @. Having been in the audio & Headfi game for decades now (eek!), I'm finally tempted to have a go at creating my own cables. I'm pretty handy at building & maintaining bicycles, but I've not attempted anything like this before, so I'd appreciate any pointers you can give me. For example, what tools will I need? Maybe there's a cable-making dummies guide somewhere for example? Cheers!

I would start in the DIY forum here. There are even some tutorials there.
