I just read an article in The Economist about Mahler's 2nd conducted by Gilbert Kaplan. The article mentioned a recording made in Cardiff in 1985. Anyone know where I can buy a copy of that recording? thanks.

For 29¢ at Amazon. Just look for the Kaplan recording made with the London Symphony Orchestra -- it's not exactly rare. Kaplan's rarest recording is of the "Adagietto" from Mahler's 5th, but I'll bet the Economist article doesn't mention it as it's the only time Kaplan has ever conducted a work other than the "Resurrection."

Btw, you can also find his recording of the symphony with the Wiener Philharmoniker at amazon as well, and that one comes in SACD/hybrid if you care about better sound quality.
