Thanks, that's what I'm really close to doing. I think, for now until I save some money for a nice DAC, I'll also feed my laptop into the E12 unless that would totally screw something up?
Mad Dogs viable for portable use?

You could feed the headphone out of your laptop into the E12...but it won't sound quite as good as the signal coming from the iPod.
