Hi all -
I am looking for a lean alternative to that POS bloatware that is iTunes, which is really started to get on my nerves.
The only requirements I have are:
- Ability to play my music through the USD digital out or headphone out on my Macbook
- Ability to upload music to my iPhone and iPad (it can be to a mobile version of that app) via cable sync -- no cloud-based transfers
- Ability to stream to my Airport Express wifi device [not Airplay]
- Should play MP3 and Apple Lossless, and higher-res (96/24) files
Dont care about multiple formats or streaming audio or cloud syncing or Spotify subscriptions or even fancy playlist capabilities. As someone who listens to mostly classical music, I typically select an album and listen to it, and that's all i want this thing to do.
Any recommendations for such a beastie?
