afplay is a command to replay the audio file. And there are many post about using this in the Japanese audio/mac sites.

Has anyone heard of this? Seems to make some difference but does not come with the convenience of iTunes.
More extreme approach from Japanese sites is to delete all unnecessary language resource - which makes system/application menu only displayed in English. I tried this with my spare iBook. Took too long for an A/B. But the volume using afplay increased. afplay is supposed to bypass the iTune volume control so something seemed to have happened.
