My M40X broke at the hinge a while ago and I'm getting fed up of zip tie-ing them together. What's a good, easy to drive upgrade for $200-$300? Something that's tough too - don't want another broken hinge. Thanks.
The AKG K371 pro we have is easy to drive, Harman tuned so no EQ needed, and been durable. The Hifiman he5xx sounds great with a $9 Apple USB 3.5mm adapter for added power and feel better built than most of their models. Beyerdynamic MMX300 with a $50 Sound blaster X1 also sounded good and Beyerdynamic is built to last.
