I have a chance to buy the M2Tech HiFace2 second hand for about the same price as new upgraded breeze du-8...
 
The question is how good is the hiface2, I know its pretty old and there is a lot of good converters out there (gustard u12 as well)
 
anyone had a chance to compare It to anything else?

Hi.
I reply beceause i was exactly in the same situation about your inquiry.
I have replaced a Hiface(1) by a Breeze audio U8.
I have a huge improvement in dynamique timing.
My sound is less edgy,better background silence too.
I can increases the volume without a trouble i had before.
But Hiface2 is probably better then the first because it have already a xmos in there.
