All,

Newbie question. Looking to buy a good PCI card for my car PC and was considering using M-Audio US41750, I have noticed alot of people have mentioned the E-MU cards as well. My budget is under 200.00 and I want a card that offers high quality analog output from my digital files (FLAC) to my car's Head unit's inputs. Main requirement is awesome stereo 2 channel and possibly this card is over featured for my requirements. Please advise if better choice.

thnx

Onboard sound. Or if you're feeling spendy, the Chaintech/Audio Excel AV-710.

Seriously, I wouldn't spend that much money on something that's going into a noisy car environment. Better off getting something of decent quality that's nice and cheap. I mean do you really expect to hear a difference between something like an AP192 and the onboard sound when you're travelling at 100km/h? The wind noise alone would be enough to make it near indistinguishable.

An M-Audio or E-MU would be total overkill.

My .02 at any rate.

Drewpy,

Thanks for the reply. Chaintech it is then! My consideration was to buy something significantly better the onboard sound...for when I was stopped at traffic lights.
