I am looking at M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe as my computer's speaker now.

I heard it's some of the best you can get for under $500, I would like to hear some opinions from you guys.

Two, I read it only come with power cable, so what kind of cable I need to connect it to my motherboard?(yes, I know, shame on me for use onboard sound

I love them. They sound awesome so long as I have the right tracks playing. Before this I used a Sonic Impact T-Amp and a pair of Polk bookshelves. I prefer these though, the sound is slightly sharper and clearer by comparison (though this could be a result of plugging them into a Zero DAC), and they're easier to setup as well. The bass is about the same though.

I'm still learning a lot about speakers (and cables... noob :p) but I got some BX8a and they are less loud than my laptop speakers. I don't need deaf loud but sometimes its nice to crank some volume. Reason? I have an HP pavilion dv7
