M-Audio soundcard for music...

It is an M-Audio 24/96 and is a very good card in its class. Folks on this board will sway you towards the EMU 0404 or 1212 which are both superior but only marginaly so. This card is a good buy as a first source.

I looked at EMU cards, but I have Windows ME, and I've had trouble finding any that are compatible. Also, I'm assuming I would need some sort of splitter to hook my 595s up to the card, are those relatively cheap?

Reformat, put on anything but windows ME. Millenium Edition was the worst edition of windows ever. While your at it, dual boot with Gentoo or Suse!

My experience with M-Audio sound cards (I have an Audiophile USB) is that they're rather harsh. Funny thing is, it pairs terribly with the M-Audio BX8! The 1212m sounds vastly better IMO.
