Hello,
I've been trying to make my revo 5.1 work under ubuntu (either breezy or dapper) for a while but without any success.
I have the following problem-- the card is properly detected as an ice1724 based device and correct alsa module is loaded but the playback is 'chopped' for the lack of better term. It sounds like if it were reproducing the music at some low sampling frequency regardless of the frequency inherent to the sound data. I've heard that envy24 cards need to have the sampling frequency set in an on-board control register (my guess) via software like envy24control. This seems like the way to go but it has one fatal flaw-- the program unfortunately doesn't support ice1724 chip.
I'm still green when it comes to linux so I'd be really grateful for any advice. This distro is definitely worth the hassle.
Cheers
Pete
