Alright so I've had my Q40s for about a year and I really love them but the cable died many months ago and I've been using some glitchy ad-hoc solutions since.
 
I have a cable from monoprice that I stripped the end of so it plugs in but sometimes it falls out and it's not ideal.  I want to get a better version of the stock cable (that is, a threaded lead) and not have to pay > $30.  Is this possible?  Are there any other hp brands that have cables like this and can be found for ≤ $30 in Canada?  Do Ultrasone or Shure cables have the same threading?  It's just really driving me nuts that I have these lovely headphones and I can't use them conveniently so I end up using my denons all the time instead.

There was a similar thread a year ago, a guy from Ca looking for the same Thing. Shoot him a pm and ask him where he get the replacement cable,

I don't know about Shure, but I have used an Ultrasone cable on the Q-40.
