I have been using M-Audio's Firewire 410 soundcard for some time and now wish to upgrade in terms of sound quality. I need a device which has at least 4 analog inputs (2xstereo), 8 analog outputs (4xstereo), MIDI I/O, Coaxial+Optical I/O. I use the soundcard mainly for switching/routing, DJ'ing with an external mixer, Korg keyboard/Electribe inputs and Abelton Live. Im using Vista (for the moment) and have many other devices using USB so would prefer to stay Firewire. The 410 runs into an Arcam amplifier and Castle speakers, or Sen HD650 when using headphones. My main gripe with the 410 is that I wish it had a better sounding DAC, yes I could add a seperate DAC but dont really wish for yet another piece equipment to fill up my desk space so I would rather replace the 410. My budget is £400-500, any ideas guys???
