I plan on buying a card for the computer I'm buying in a few weeks and I'm tight on cash. Is there any reason that I shouldn't save money by buying the DiO 2448 rather than the Audiophile 2496? I'm not ever going to use MIDI, and I can't imagine why I would need to input 96khz sample rates. I just plan on using the card for my altoids amp and stereo system. I guess an important question would be, does the DiO 2448 work with Mac? The description doesn't mention it so should I assume not, leaving me with the Audiophile as the only option?

I don't think the 2448 works with the mac, my AP2496 works fine in OS 9 and OS X and the DiO2496 has drivers for both...

Would you say that you're happy with the card? Is it a significant improvement over the sound out? I ask because I realized that after I buy my computer and an iPod, I may not be able to squeeze in the cost of a card if it's not really worth it.
