I am thinking about getting an M-audio Audiophile 24/96. How does this card compare to the EMU 1212m, and the chaintec card that everyone is raving about (forget the name

). I have an audigy 2 zs right now, and I am going to keep it for gaming. Does this card perform ok in stereo movies? I am trying to look for a new card for my headphones, and I am probably going to use my klipsch 2.1's with my audigy....but if this card is good for movies, I may use both my headphones and my speakers with it, and speakers and audigy for games. Will this card function ok with my Audigy 2 ZS?

thanks

From what I've heard 1212m > AP 24/96 > Chaintech AV-710 >/= M-Audio Revolution 7.1. If you can afford to get the 1212m over the AP 24/96 definately get it.

EDIT: I just remembered the EMU 1212m has driver conflicts with the Audigy so you'd probably be better off with the AP 24/96 or Chaintech at least until EMU puts out new drivers that fix the conflict.

With a jitter buster between the AP and DAC, it is competitive with other budget transports. Otherwise, it is a poor choice if you are only going to use the analog output, from a sound quality perspective. It has no problem with stereo movies.
