simple

Turntable- to- RIAA Phono Preamplifier-to-Computer Line input-to-CD burner

just watch the volume levels

too low and the recording will be noisy ,too high and you will overload the sound card input

for simplicity and pretty good you could download the data sheet for the LT1028 from Linear Technology where you will find one with a low parts count.See the DIY links section for the Linear Tech address

something a bit more complicated and more expensive -do a search for the El Cheapo Phono Preamp but for your intended use the first option is fine

The Bugle by Hagerman Technologies is reputed to be an excellent phono preamp.

Are all sound cards going to give you the best sound possible for vinyl to cd.

use only the best ADC you can get, it's on E-MU 1212m, record in 24/192kHz, use Wavelab and VST plugins for it to remove the hiss and clicks'n'pops, resample to 24/96 for storing on DVD-V as a LPCM track or 16/44 to burn audio CD.. wash the vinyls before recording, use the best turntable you can aquire as well as preamp..

exellant yes but not in this application.you want to go solid state or use a transformer coupled phono stage if you are intending to mate it with a sound card input.

the Bugle wants to see a higher impedance (not published impedance but REAL impedance) than the sound card input offers if it is to perform as intended

trust me on this one

Now rickster, the Bugle IS solid state!

(2) OPA2134's powered by two 9V.

I think you're still all wound up about that hybrid thread...
