Hey folks, I recently picked up a pair of ety ER2XRs and while they sound great the cable is absolute trash. Any slight movement at all results in loud scratching and scraping sounds in my ear. Thank god the things can be replaced, but I am a novice when it comes to cables and what will fit on which IEMs. I recall my old Senn IE8s had basically zero microphonics but unfortunately they are not MMCX connector. I went out to Ety's site and was shocked to see them selling the standard replacement cable for 60-70 dollars. Going through the cheap IEM cable thread, it seems to be all these giant braided gold and silver cables. My IE8s never needed all that to have zero microphonics so I figure I shouldn't need to have something so gaudy hanging out of my ears to get the cable noise down.
