I'm interested in the fostex or other hard to drive low impedance headphones.
I have a Asus Xonar STX as a DAC feeding to a Schiit Asgard 2.
On my other low impedance phones (Denon D7000/BO H6) the noise floor is there at 12 o'clock power.
Does this translate into noise for Orthos to and would I need an external DAC?

sensitivity is the reason why some planars are hard to drive, not impedance, you will be fine with your soundcard and amp
