Lost my IEM's, replacing...

About a month or two ago I lost my Shure e2c's. I had them forever, and even bought replacement earbuds/guards for them. I was going to buy another pair but wondered if I can get a decent performance increase if I spend a little more. 140$ is my current budget. Earbuds that I can take running with me is a definite bonus. Are there any recommendations?

well what are you looking for in an IEM

Thanks all, for the posts. I pulled together some more scratch and was considering Etymotic ER-4P's instead, but my friend told me once I've entered this level of IEM's I'll need to invest in an amp. He recommended it'd be smarter to get the RE-0's with a relatively cheap amp instead of just the etymotic's. He said the level of quality would be comparable or better and I could also use the amp with my HD 595's. Is he full of it or would that be a better move?

Depends on the amp, but IMO the RE0's don't need to be amped to sound good. I don't know what sort of amp you're considering, but anything low end will just hurt the detail that they put out.
