keeping in mind, the things i loved about the ex71's were the comfort, the portability (so small) and the sound was more than adaquet. so yeah, my dad is down in the states for business, so he can pick up anything available there. im only asking because ive kinda been out of the game for a while

i know the 81's came out but i hate the design, i don't want koss's, i don't want shures, etymotics, or anything else over 50ish bux. i don't really have any money since i have to buy like 250 dollar stands for my stupid speakers (which i love

) so yeah, is there anything else really close to the sony's that i might like?

If you really liked the 71's, then you should get them.

Own a pair myself (which my bro uses with the mini) and I'm currently using the Shure e3c. I miss the bass.

The Sony EX71, Sharp MD33 and Panasonic RP HJE50 are similar in many ways. Very comfortable and comes with asymetrical wires. If you prefer the bass of the Sony EX71, then don't settle for anything else. For your budget, any of them should serve you fine.
