My humble PA2V2 seems to run out of gas at about half volume trying to power my Senn 580s. The source is 5th G iPod with a Sik Din connector. What would be a good replacement that could handle 580s at respectable levels while maintaining quality? I'm open to any and all suggestions. I would like to stay around $200 or less.

With $200, there are some good choices. You could try the Total Airhead ($150), the Portaphile V2 ($190), Xin SuperMini ($200) or you can go DIY which IMO will give you the most bang for your buck.
