A while back I setup  the Lepai 2020A+ with Dayton B652 speakers and a Dayton SUB 1000. I was looking to replace the amp with one of higher quality. My price range is at most $100USD.

What are looking for in "higher quality?" $100 is still a very budget amplifier, so like the Lepai, it will have it's limitations.

Perhaps an eBay Chinese kit where you can put together a 50-120watt class t amp? They're fairly simple and they're just as common. I would suspect this improves the sound quality. My 2020+ had two faults IMO: 1. Even with the EQ controls bypassed, the preamp section was veiled and a little colored 2. Wasn't enough power to give me the dynamics I enjoy, even at lower levels. A higher wattage class T amp with a simple potentiometer as a volume control would solve these issues!
