As the thread title states, I'm looking for something more up-to-date than my old X5. It's served me well, but the battery is on its way out (which I can probably replace) and the front scroll wheel is just infuriating to use at this point. I'm into dance music (Drum n Bass, Techno, Hip Hop, House in that order, though Drum n Bass comprises about 65%+ of my listening). I always liked the volume I could get out of the X5, but it always seemed to be a little light in the bass, imo. The headphones I use are, in order:
1. Ultrasone Signature DJ
2. Sennheiser IE8
3. Ultrasone Pro900i
The thing that jumps out at me is the fact that it seems VERY difficult to find something these days that provides the same kind of power the X5ii did. 436mw into 32 ohms and I can't find anything close. I'd like to try to stay under, say, 700 USD and I'd love some suggestions from the group. Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
