I am looking to make my own DIY headphone with either k99 or k100 (k100 is 50mm but not the k99) and I am looking at a shell atm and one in mind the most is the KSC75. Also apparently according to someone from here that the driver size of ksc75 is "1.75" in diameter just saying. But what is holding me back from the KSC75 is the fact that it is not really open backed and then I decided to go looking for mods for that semi-open part and found this https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/hv7rl1/closed_back_mmcx_koss_ksc75s/ https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4545321 which gives me an idea that the shell part is removable. Also for the earpads I will be using earpad adapters made from 3d printing or just make my own frame-like earpad things like the Vie Shair. What do I need to know about the KSC75 and mods can I do to the shell? Has anybody been able to open-back the KSC75? Also is it possible to open back the KSC21?

KSC75 is fully open backed. In fact, the back shell of KSC75 is also part of the driver and you can't take them apart without destroying the driver. The close-backed mod you linked just just a 3D printed 'cap' to glue on top of the back shell to seal it off.

So it is possible to separate the the back shell? I just want to buy the Koss as a headphone shell which is why I chose the KSC75. So if I want make the Koss more open back I would try to remove the driver from the back shell? And is there a tutorial on how to do this?
