Hi,
As the title says, I am looking to buy headphones to listen to my ripped MP3s on the computer. The rips are at 192kpbs, and I'm using a Creative Audigy2 ZS, in case you wanted to know. My budget's around 150-200 dollars. I'd like a set of cans that sound good unampped because I don't have an amp, and can't justify spending another 300-500 dollars for one.
Thanks.

Grado SR-225s sound pretty sweet unamped (although it definetely sounds better amped).

However, I know that my Grados don't sound their best around a PC because of the noise covers some of the detail. Might want to look into a closed set of cans or canalphones.

Agreed. Either A900's or any of the Grados would sound great through your sound card. Neither require much in the way of amplification, if anything. Do you know if you would prefer an open or closed set of headphones? That would narrow it down...
