 The NFB-5 amp section is far from weak, as stated above they should be getting about 2000mW approx. -
 output impedance is set to 2ohms, now a HE-500 has eluded me for the time being but spending a bit of time with
 an LCD-2 and the NFB-5 yesterday revealed that this Chinese unit drove
 those Audeze's quite well.
 
 Short of Violectric, the Schiit Lyr or a Dark Star from Monsieur Ray Samuels - I cannot think of many amp only units that
 can blitz those figures.

Man, I can`t thank you people enough for all the information I have gathered here, and the recommendations I got.
This headset literally blows everything I have ever heard before, and then some.
Music just sounds so friggin good now, it`s almost empowering. No need to go in depth about the HE-500, since I can`t really give it any justification at all. But seriously, thank you guys. I listen to music several hours each day, so it`s weird I haven`t done this until now. 
 
Just a quick question, what genre do you guys think is the best on HE-500?
