I found a good combo for my AKG702: PS Audio DL III(stock) + Stello HP100. Good weight and full body in most spectrum of the music with good tonality to me. I have also tried 702 with another combo: PSA DL III + GCHA but it sound a little too bright and aggressive to me. So I ended up with DLIII + HP100 and DA100 + GCHA. It's kind of funny (crossing brands).
My DT880 sound great with the Stello DA100 & PSA GCHA, but it is clear to me that its mid is recessed and blurred compare to AKG702. So I am looking for an HP that has the strength of AKG702(sound stage, focus, details, etc.) but somewhat better.
It seems HD800 may fit the criteria, but it's out of my budget. W5000 or D7000 (used) may be possible but they also have their issues (to me) such less soundstage, closed design, etc and it doesn't seem to be a clear win after some reading here.
So I would appreciate if someone may point me to a direction that I have not found yet. And it is important to have good synergy with my existing gears.
Budget: ~$600 USD (used one is expected)
Thanks!
PS: I made a mistake and posted this on the AMP forum. So I reposted it here and close the other one. Sorry for the confusion.
