My friend wants a $75 gaming/listening headset and he's thinking about buying the Plantronics Audio 750 DSP. His priority is gaming, but he also wants it to sound nice with music. Does anyone know if they're any good or if there's a better option? I know plenty about headphones, but nothing about headsets.

I hate to be the one to mention it, but if he wants good headphones and a mic, then he should buy a pair of good headphones and desktop microphone. That's really gonna give him the biggest bang for the buck. Then again, you probably already know this and are trying to find the best headset.

My experience with headsets have always been poor. Especially for music. Try to convert him.

I would take a look at the Ultrasone HFI-15G. These have the S-Logic Surround Sound feature and they sound really good with music. Their construction may seem a little on the cheap side, but they sound terrific and they are extremely comfortable.
