I pretty much need catch all headphones. I love the AD700s so I'd like something that fits similar or has a similar style but a little bit upgraded sound wise. My price range is around 200-250 but if I HAD to I could probably go 300 if there was a pair with great value I couldnt pass up.

How necessary are Amps ? Ive never had one. Ive always plugged my AD700s directly into my sound card (HT | OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card).

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card, $60-$80.
AKG K612 Pro headphones, $160-$200.

Sell off the ATH-AD700s and the HT Striker 7.1.
Striker is a decent card, but the SB-Z comes with a better DAC feature
and a more powerful headphone amplifier.
