I was looking for some bulk speaker wire. I want to make a speaker cable about 10 feet long ( so i'd be buying 20 feet) and the total cost ( so connectors too) should be under 60-70. I don't need anything extravagant, just want to have some fun and build something a bit beter than what i have now.

There's the common Cat5 approach, acquire some cat5 or cat6 cable slice it open and use the twisted pairs/ twist the wires to your prefered structure, there are several tutorials online ond probably some links here if you use the search function

I have never tried it and there are people saying it's total crap
But at the price you might want to try it even if it's just for further experience

I bet you will get more and better advice though, just a first starting point !

Some interesting ideas buried in here Cables, Interconnects and Other Stuff - The Truth if you can get past "The Truth" and just look at the ideas. I wan to try the pair of coax mentioned in the summary. Only worried about the current handling of normal coax.

Personally, I use a couple of lengths of Canare StarQuad, mostly because its what I had laying around and I didn't want to buy any more cables.

I've had good luck using the Royal Cable brand of auto speaker wire from Wal-Mart in the 14 awg. Not high end but better than any of the Monster junk or some other types (up to $100 pr) that I've tried with my setup. You can try it pretty cheap and not be out much if you don't like it.
