I've had a crazy kick on this stuff lately but I don't know any composers or artists who's this was their bread and butter.

Examples:

1st song

I did find Bohren & Der

Appears Miles Davis has some too

What got me into it was the OST from the game Contrast

Any more would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also check out Miles Davis Ascenseur Pour L'echafaud - Lift To The Scaffold. This is a soundtrack to a French film Noir he recorded in the space of a few hours after one of his gigs in Paris.
