I need to build some silver, 4 conductor headphone cables.
Looking for a source for the wire, preferably braided, that doesn't cost a fortune.
Most of what I've found is very expensive.
Any suggesttions?

I guess it depends on your budget and what you deem expensive.  Silver wire will be pretty pricey when compared with copper options.  I've purchased some short lengths of wire from homegrownaudio.com for making an LOD and they offer 4 conductor braided options for sale.  Pricing depends on the awg of the wire.

I used Audio Consulting silver wires for speaker cables, as well as internal wiring for my beta 22. Quite high quality wire, though I do not know whether it fits your budget for wires.
