Hi

I have been getting into Journey and Asia lately. I am looking for recommendation for similar music. I am happy for recommendations either for bands and albums of the same generation, or newer bands and albums from those who also enjoy that style of music.

Cheers

Cal: [Pointing to a framed poster] I mean, seriously, Asia? You framed an Asia poster? How hard did the people at the frame store laugh when you brought this in?

Andy: They did not laugh at me.

Sorry, man. I couldn't resist. I personally don't have anything against Asia. I just love that scene.

John Wetton's solo albums:

Sinister (fantastic)
Battle Lines

and the duet CD:

John Wetton/Geoffrey Downes S/T

and don't forget there is a new Asia album, Phoenix, due out on 18 April!

Cheers.

I like their first album. Check out King Crimson's Red. Bill Bruford is awesome. Wetton is amazing on this album as well.

You also might like:

Bad Company - Here Comes Trouble
Bad Company - Holy Water

and some of the Survivor records.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

I'll second Toto and Survivor. When steve perry left journey, i thought the lead singer of Survivor would have been a great replacement.

edit: I'll also throw in the obscure The Outfield. Known best for 'Your Love' but have some other good songs on their Play Deep album.

Yeah, the Outfield had some great catchy tunes...

along with Your Love there is:

My Paradise
Say It Ain't So
Voices of Babylon

and another I forgot about but it is a very very underrated CD:

Shooting Star - Silent Scream

Cheers.
